Hi,

The Hi-Earn saw has a very specific formula for spacing the teeth (but dont' ask me what it is!). You can also just use a saw with randomly spaced teeth. In both cases the idea is to break up the vibration from the teeth impacting the wood. In most cases, but not all, the cut is better. In some cases, this also breaks up washboarding. The idea of variable tooth spacing has been used for years in the metal cutting industry.

Now that saws are cut out with computer controlled lasers, any tooth shape is possible for no extra cost except for making the computer drawing that controls the laser path.
