The last post is very good advice. However, if there is buildup on the wheels due to poorly maintained scrapers or any other reason it will normally cause a severe crack problem, especially on a high strain mill. Fix the things that you know are not correct, check the cross line and then if the ploblem is not salved start looking for more sudle problems. Good luck
