Hello Bruce;

This burn sounds like possible feed problems. Too high feed may give trouble by causing the saw to heel as if too low back angle. Then we might be forced to say that the left saw is restricting the feed enough to allow the right saw to feed alright. On the other end too small a bite may cause heat from fine sawdust packing in the cut. For example, feed roller slippage or high saw rpm.

This is the only suggestion I can think of. Good luck!
