I'm hoping some of you 'more experienced' guys can help me with repairing my occasional cracks. Some of the repairs last for weeks while others don't hold long enough to get the saw to the grinder. We're running 13ga 12"x49'saws on an 8' headsaw (Simonds and IKS saws/uddeholm steel) sawing hardwoods.
I'm using a Miller Econotig with 3/32 alloy reportedly the same used by Simmonds for their butt welds.
Apparently I am not properly tempering the area after welding.
I would appreciate any info/techinques anyone may offer.
