HI RON Regarding the tempering of your welds try this, after welding wait till the weld is cool enough so you can just touch it. Do not move the saw before tempering. Heat the weld from edge to edge using oxy-acetylene at a pressure of 2-5 psi with a white cone of ¼ , until the weld is a faint DARK RED colour, this should be 650 c or 1200 f There is on the market annealing crayons which you may find helpful.
