Re: Long strings of wood or sawdust from gang machines. If one looks closely at this it occurs in climb-cut gangs. The feedspeed is not the cause because if you check with a caliper the bite will be within range and the strings are long. If you look real close you will see that the cut is straight with the grain of wood and this takes place at the top end of the cant where the teeth are cutting parallel with the grain. Why it won't break up as sawdust is because it is stringy and the grain runs with the length.
