We installed a Simonds Autobench in September of this year. It is working extremely well and is used on every saw that comes into the shop. We did have some confusion just after we installed it that sounds much the same as your probem. It turned out we were setting up the parameters for the back dial indicator wrong. We had the red and yellow adjustment knobs both set to fire on say +.003". When the machine lengthened the back, it then went to the front and tried to lengthen it. Once we figured it out it was a five minute fix. If this doesn't help call Simonds and ask for Rod Stirling. 1-800-661-1958
