The alignment still has to be done, with the added twist that the setworks and positioners have to be powered up while you're doing the alignment. Other than the saftey issues involved with working besides an energized hydraulic cylinder, the positioners do make alignment easier - you just have to punch new offsets into the computer instead of playing with shim stock.
A better name for this aspect is calibration rather than alignment.

with cnc controllers and encoders and such,I think its possible that we could have a system where we could push a button and have everything line up where it should be.any thoughts??
